"Battle Over the Blue Moon"
The majority of these smaller oil paintings were done on illustration board. I was doing them by drawing the theme out first. I would start spontaneously (as I do with oils on panel) then tighten up with a pencil before I applied the paint. They are all (well mostly) of an illustrative approach but I liked doing them as it gave me a chance to experiment with the power of pure fantasy. As long as I approached them with fluid spontaneity they came across quite well.
